Semi-Annual Retreats

The Knights of the Round Table facilitates two retreats per year. These weekend-long 12-step retreats are for Knights members as well as guests who often join the group after their experience. The purpose of the retreat is to provide the attendees with a greater knowledge of the 12 steps and to enhance their relationship with God and their fellow men.

Support Our Work

The Knights of the Round Table is seeking financial support so we can increase the scope of programs and projects such as our semi-annual retreats.

Building Life Long Relationships

The founder of the Knights of the Round Table, Brian Ong, knew how important it is for those in recovery to increase and maintain their working knowledge of the 12-step program and also the relationships that are required for ongoing support in sobriety. Further, he knew how critical it is for those in recovery to be accountable for their involvement in the program, including serving others and sharing their life experience with them. As such, in 1998 Brian began a tradition at the Knights of hosting two retreats per year, in Spring and Winter.

The retreats consist of an intensive 12-step study over the course of the weekend, with over two hundred men participating . The event is facilitated by experienced members of the Knights who provide explanation, direction and education in each of the 12 steps using the approved literature of Alcoholics Anonymous. They also share their own personal experience with the steps, and then they call members from the group to the podium to do the same.

The result for the whole group is an immersion in the 12-step experience that enhances their sobriety, builds lifelong relationships and brings members closer to God.

These retreats are a critical component to the effectiveness of the group as a whole and to its members as individuals.

One of our goals is to ensure that those who are new in sobriety have the opportunity to attend the retreats, as it has been observed that the sobriety rate of those new men who attend can increase dramatically. To facilitate this, the Knights of the Round Table provides scholarships to those who cannot afford the fees and have not yet attended a retreat. Our hope is to save the lives of those who may not survive their alcoholism or addiction without a stable foundation of sobriety. The Knights retreat helps provide this foundation.

Our hope is to increase the scholarship fund so we can include more new people at each of these retreats. If you would like to partner with the Knights financially to help provide for this scholarship fund, or would like more information on this semi-annual event, please click here to provide a tax-deductible donation or contact us through this website.
